You don't have to write a single word to enjoy a great evening out in the Bay!
What's it all about?
Inkspot is a new writing hub in Pevensey Bay, meeting at different member's houses in turn.
Meetings will be on the first Friday of each month at 6.30pm
It’s a group for all ages and all interests.
Founder member Jacky Long said ‘What we hope to uncover is hidden talent, what we hope to inspire is creativity; a sense of accomplishment once an idea is turned into the written word.’
Working with Jacky to ensure Inkspot’s success is Marylyn Palmer, co-founder of New Eastbourne Writers.
You are invited to submit your poetry, short stories or life stories. Your work doesn’t have to follow in the footsteps of Dickens or Dahl, it doesn’t have to be perfectly punctuated or spelt, but it must be original. It costs nothing to submit an entry.
Entrants will then be invited to Inkspot on the first Friday evening of each month, to read their work aloud. If you feel too shy to read one of us will read out your work for you!
Everybody is welcome to the meeting - whether you are a writer or not. It is an interesting and entertaining way to spend an evening – listening to stories written and read by local people. Entry is £2.00 to include refreshments.
The entry fee will fund both future prizes and charity donations.
For Inkspot to succeed we need listeners as much as we do writers!
Supporting local causes and charities
Inkspot welcomed guest speakers from Pevensey Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation to open the March meeting;
visit their facebook page if you can for more information:
Each month any profits from the evening will go to local causes and charities.
